Hire React Native developers
Expo, native modules, OTA updates
React Native engineers for teams that already write React: shared people, shared libraries, and over-the-air updates that put a fix in front of users without waiting on review.
React Native makes most sense when React is already on your web team's screens. Same engineers, same state libraries, often the same validation and API code. That is a genuine saving, and it explains why teams pick it over Flutter more often than the framework comparison articles would suggest.
Our React Native engineers use Expo where it fits, which is now most projects: prebuild, EAS Build and Submit, config plugins for native dependencies, and over-the-air updates for JavaScript-only fixes. Where a project has outgrown Expo or needs an awkward native module, they are equally comfortable in the bare workflow with Xcode and Android Studio open on the second monitor.
What goes wrong on React Native projects is predictable, which is the good news. Navigation state that collapses on a deep link. Lists dropping frames at a few thousand rows. Images blowing the memory budget on a cheap Android. Upgrades postponed until they become a rewrite. Our engineers plan for each: virtualised lists, a navigation structure written down before it sprawls, and the New Architecture adopted deliberately rather than discovered mid-crisis.
When a dedicated React Native developer is the right call. There is a React web app and you want a mobile app without hiring a second discipline. Shipping fixes fast matters and OTA is worth real money to you. The app is content or commerce shaped rather than sensor or graphics heavy. Or an old React Native version is sitting there and nobody in-house wants to touch the upgrade.
When it is not. Heavy graphics, AR, complex Bluetooth and serious background processing are better native, and we will say so. If nobody on your team writes React at all, Flutter is usually the easier hire and the easier codebase to keep.
Store accounts stay yours, releases get set up so your team can repeat them, and the handover includes an upgrade plan covering the next twelve months.
What they do
Apps with Expo
Expo SDK, EAS Build and Submit, config plugins, and OTA updates for JavaScript fixes that skip the review queue entirely.
Native modules
Bridging into Swift and Kotlin where JavaScript will not reach: payments, biometrics, camera, Bluetooth, background location.
Performance work
Virtualised lists, image caching and memory budgets, Hermes profiling, and the New Architecture migration done on purpose.
Sharing code with web
Shared TypeScript types, validation schemas, API clients and business logic across your React web app and the mobile one.
Store releases
Signing, TestFlight and Play internal tracks, phased rollouts, privacy declarations and metadata written to pass first time.
Version upgrades
Old React Native and Expo versions brought current step by step, including the dependency archaeology that always comes with it.

How to hire
Tell us what the web app already isDay 0
React version, monorepo or not, what you hope to share. Plus the app's target date and which native features are in scope.
Profiles, and a native-work verdict48 h
Two or three CVs with store links you can install, plus our honest read on whether the brief needs native module work. That changes who we send and how long it takes.
Interview, and ask about an upgrade2–4 days
Ask how they last moved an app across a major version. It is the question that finds people who have done this rather than read about it. No charge at this stage.
A build in two weeks, plus a debt listDays 1–15
TestFlight or Play internal with a real feature in it, and a written read on your app's upgrade and performance debt. Useful even if you stop there, and unbilled if you do.
OTA policy, then steady releasesOngoing
NDA and IP before the first commit, your developer accounts, and an agreed rule for what ships over the air and what waits for review. Pause on 30 days' notice.
FAQ
Should we use Expo or bare React Native?
Expo for the large majority of apps now. EAS Build, config plugins and OTA updates remove weeks of setup, and you can still move out later if you truly must. Bare only when a native dependency has no plugin or you need deep build customisation.
Can we really ship updates without App Store review?
For JavaScript-only changes, yes, through expo-updates or CodePush. Anything touching native code or store metadata still goes through review. Both stores permit OTA for JavaScript within their rules, and we keep releases inside those rules rather than testing them.
How much code can we share with our React web app?
Types, validation, API clients and business logic. Realistically 20 to 40%. Components are not shared: mobile navigation and interaction patterns differ, and pretending they do not produces an app that feels like a website in a frame.
Our app is several React Native versions behind. Is upgrading worth it?
Usually yes, because the gap only widens and security patches stop arriving. The route is version by version with the app buildable at every step, replacing unmaintained native modules as you go. We give an effort range after a week of audit rather than before.
Do you do the App Store submission?
Yes, inside your own developer accounts. Signing, privacy and data-safety declarations, screenshots to spec, staged rollout, all set up so your team can repeat the release the next time without us in the room.
Tell us the role. Profiles in 48 hours.
No retainer to see CVs, and no invoice until the trial ends and you say yes.
