You have a photograph of a signature on paper and a form with a size limit. Check each requirement before you submit.
- Read the form instructions: Note the required pixel dimensions, file format and maximum size. Requirements differ between forms.
- Check the source image: Use a clear photograph. Crop excess margins in your photo editor, then add it here.
- Set dimensions and background: Enter the required width and height. Try paper cleaning only if you need it, and check that pale strokes remain visible.
- Download and inspect: Check the displayed size and open the saved image. If the size limit is not reached, change the settings and run it again.
Dimensions and file size are separate requirements
A 140 by 60 pixel image can have different file sizes depending on the format and image detail. JPEG can be saved at lower quality; PNG preserves transparency but its quality slider does not reduce file size. The tool reports whether the chosen size limit was reached. The receiving form decides whether it accepts the file.
Common questions
When should I use a transparent PNG versus a white JPEG?
Choose transparent PNG when placing a signature onto digital documents, PDFs, or contracts so only the ink shows. Choose JPEG with a white background for government, exam, or visa portals that require solid white margins.
Does this tool guarantee my signature will be accepted?
No automated tool can guarantee portal acceptance because individual institutions periodically update their dimension, ratio, and format rules. Always verify your exported file against the destination form's published guidelines.
Can pale ink strokes be preserved?
Cleaning can remove pale strokes as well as the paper background. Start with a clear image, use a lower contrast setting or turn cleaning off, and inspect the saved image before submitting it.
Is my signature stored or uploaded anywhere?
Files selected from your device stay in this browser tab for processing; we do not upload them to our server. If you choose Google Drive import, Google sends the selected files directly to your browser after you grant access.
