Questions people ask before they sign
How does an engagement start?
Start with an agreed onboarding plan. Give the engineer the project context, coding standards and a first deliverable that can be reviewed safely. Use the early work to assess technical judgement, communication, testing and response to code review. Keep production permissions appropriate to the task. The proposal sets scope, fees, working hours and any replacement or exit arrangements.
Are the developers your employees or freelancers?
You hire Knit Infotech’s in-house employees. Our development team is based in Noida, India. This offer does not use freelance developers.
Will they work in my timezone?
Working hours and the live collaboration window are agreed before onboarding. Share your team’s time zone and meeting requirements, and discuss the proposed engineer’s availability before agreeing the work.
Who owns the code and the IP?
You do, from the first commit. We sign your NDA or supply ours, and IP assignment is written into the master services agreement before anybody opens an editor.
Can I interview before committing?
Yes. Review the proposed profiles and interview the engineer before choosing an engagement. A practical discussion can use a task from your backlog; any assessment work and its terms should be agreed in advance.
What is the minimum commitment and how do I exit?
One month for monthly and pod engagements, 40 hours for hourly. After that it is 30 days' notice at any time, and unused prepaid hours are refunded rather than absorbed.
How do you bill?
Monthly in advance for dedicated engineers, weekly in arrears for hourly work. USD, AUD, NZD or INR by bank transfer or card, with a GST-compliant invoice.
What happens if an engineer takes sick leave or planned vacation?
We maintain an active bench in Noida. If an engineer has an unplanned absence longer than two days or planned leave, a senior peer is briefed on your repository to cover critical tickets so your sprint velocity never stalls. You are only invoiced for days worked.
How do you protect our code, IP and sensitive data?
Set project access, secrets handling and any hardware or security requirements before onboarding. Use permissions appropriate to the engineer’s role and record NDA, IP-assignment and data-access obligations in the proposal. If the work involves regulated or sensitive data, identify those requirements in the brief so the controls and obligations can be assessed.
Tell us the role. Profiles in 48 hours.
Describe the role, required skills and first deliverables so we can match the enquiry to your project. Profiles can be supplied within 48 hours. Developer allocation and the start date depend on discussion and agreement.
