A service-specific website for Lockman Locksmiths

Home & trade services

A WordPress site for an Auckland mobile locksmith, split into four specific service pages, mobile locksmith, car keys, smart lock systems and emergency locksmith, so an urgent search lands directly on the right one.

Homepage of the Lockman website, showing the Auckland's Mobile Locksmith hero and the four service icons for keys, smart locks, emergency and automotive

The challenge

Someone locked out of their car at 11pm and someone researching a smart lock upgrade for a renovation are both "locksmith" searches, but they are not the same visitor and do not want the same page. The emergency visitor wants a phone number in the first five seconds; the smart-lock visitor wants to compare systems before they call anyone.

What we did

Four services get four separate pages, mobile locksmith, car keys, smart lock systems and emergency locksmith, rather than one "our services" list, so a search for "emergency locksmith Auckland" lands a visitor directly on a page built around urgency, phone number first, while a smart-lock search lands on a page built around comparison and features. A Reviews page sits in the primary navigation, not buried in About Us, because a locksmith is a trust decision made at speed and social proof needs to be one click away, not three.

What we built

The build is WordPress with Slider Revolution driving the homepage hero. The phone number, 0800 562 593, is repeated in the header on every page rather than only on a contact page, on the reasoning that a locksmith visitor in an actual emergency should never have to navigate to find it. Four feature icons (replace lost keys, smart lock system, 24-hour emergency, automotive lock servicing) sit directly under the hero as an at-a-glance summary of the four service pages, so a visitor can self-route in one glance rather than reading the full menu.

How this was measured

This entry documents the live, published site at lockman.co.nz as it stands today, including its four service pages, checked directly. We have not added campaign results or before/after metrics here because we do not have the client's written figures to hand; ask us and we will request them, or tell us the numbers and we will publish them with attribution.

Questions

Why does an emergency locksmith service need separate pages instead of one services list?

Someone locked out right now wants a phone number in the first five seconds, not a comparison of smart lock systems, and someone planning a renovation wants the opposite. Splitting the two means each search intent lands on a page built for what that visitor actually needs at that moment.
