A WordPress site for a childcare group running centres in Auckland, Manawatu and Wellington, built so a parent in any of the three regions lands on the right centre in one click.
The challenge
All About Children runs 12 early learning centres across three regions, 7 in Auckland (Avondale, Papakura, Manurewa, Sylvia Park, Mt Wellington, Apollo Drive, Hobson), 2 in Manawatu (Bulls, Marton) and 3 in Wellington (Titahi Bay, Naenae, Greta Point). Each centre has its own address, phone number, hours and enrolment contact, so a single generic "contact us" page cannot represent the group, and a parent searching for care in Naenae should never have to read about a centre in Bulls to find it.
What we did
The information architecture runs three tiers deep rather than one flat page: the homepage sends a visitor into a region, Auckland, Manawatu or Wellington; the region page lists only the centres in that region as cards with a real photo of the actual building; and each centre then owns a page of its own. Nothing about a Wellington family's enquiry can end up routed to the Auckland office, because the pages are structurally separate, not just visually grouped, each one lives at its own URL (/childcare-avondale-auckland/, /childcare-titahi-bay/, and so on) rather than behind a shared template with a query parameter.
What we built
Each of the 12 centre pages carries its own five-item navigation, Home, About Us, Curriculum, Why Us, Contact Us, and its own contact block: street address, direct phone line, opening hours and an enquiry form that reaches that centre's manager, not a head-office inbox. The platform is WordPress 6.7 with WooCommerce running underneath it to handle enrolment-related payments and deposits, so a family can be invoiced by the specific centre they enrol at rather than a generic billing entity. Region and centre pages share one underlying template so a 13th centre can be added without a rebuild, but each page's content, photos and contact details are entered independently, so nothing about Avondale accidentally leaks into Papakura's page.
This entry documents the live, published site at allaboutchildrenchildcare.co.nz as it stands today, including its region and individual-centre pages, checked directly (12 centre pages, 3 region pages). We have not added campaign results or before/after metrics here because we do not have the client's written figures to hand; ask us and we will request them, or tell us the numbers and we will publish them with attribution.

Questions
Why does every centre get its own page instead of one shared location page?
Because the group's centres do not share a phone number, manager or enrolment queue. A shared page would either force a parent to hunt through all 12 addresses or force the business to route every enquiry through one desk that then has to redirect it, which is the exact delay a parent choosing childcare does not have patience for.
Why is WooCommerce used on a childcare site rather than a plain contact form?
Enrolment at a childcare centre usually involves a deposit or a booking fee tied to a specific location. WooCommerce lets that payment be attributed to the right centre's books automatically, rather than arriving as an unassigned bank transfer someone then has to manually match up.
